Most platforms offer either a package or a performance.
A standard tour can show you the sights. A generic "authentic local experience" often avoids saying what the local person actually gets. Folkvia is trying a different model: a clear, paid, respectful match between a traveler and a local person whose real life, work, and perspective fit the question the traveler is carrying.
This is not about pretending you are living like a local. It is about meeting someone honestly, with both sides knowing what the relationship is.

Shenzhen is one of the hardest Chinese cities to understand from the outside: migration, speed, factory networks, cross-border life, neighborhood systems, and a daily rhythm most checklists miss.
